Line Test for Mac OS 7.1-7.5

 1.  Open a Terminal Window by selecting the Apple Menu>Control Panel>ConfigPPP 

 2.  Click Terminal Window Check box.

 3.  Click on "Open" for ConfigPPP.  When terminal window opens type in "AT" then type Return. Response should be "OK"

 4.  Type in "ATDT 18473302780" and type Return (include the space)

 5.  Modem should Dial

 6.  When you are connected to 3Com the following words appear:  "Do you want graphics?".  Press Enter.

 7.  When it asks "What is your first name" type:  Line

 8.  When it asks "What is your last name" type:  Test

 9.  Wait for the results to be displayed on your screen.  Write down the results word for word.  Tell the Lisco tech your results the next time you call.

10.  To quit terminal window, click on cancel.

NOTICE:  It is recommended that you perform this test at least 10 times to get

               an accurate measurement of your connectability.  Remember you are

               calling a long distance number, which will give you different results

               compared to calling locally.
