About Domain Names
A domain name represents your address on the Internet.
Each domain name ends with a top level domain such as biz, cc,
com, net, or org. Anyone is free to register a
name in any of the top level domains.
The second level domain represents your specific
identity. For example, in "lisco.com", lisco is
the second level domain and com is the top level domain.
You may request a specific domain name. It can
be up to 22 characters long, but, the shorter the name, the easier
it is to remember and use. The only characters allowed in the domain
name are letters, numbers and the hyphen (-). A domain name cannot
begin or end with a hyphen, and no blank spaces are allowed.
Before you request a domain name you should see
whether it is already registered to someone else. Click
here and type in your requested domain name. If the domain name
is still available the search result will indicate that there is
no match.
