How To Activate LISCO's
Spam & Virus Filtering System
 

Please note: Only those users who have received an email message from LISCO containing a temporary password will be able to turn on the filtering system.

If you haven't received an email message containing your password, CLICK HERE to request us to activate filtering. Then, after you've received your password and before you use the filtering system for the first time, return to this page and perform the following steps.
 
1. Using your email program (Outlook Express, Netscape Communicator, etc.), open the email message that LISCO sent you containing your LISCO spam and virus-free email login address and temporary password.
2. Write down the temporary password contained in the email message, or copy it to your clipboard. (You'll need to type in the password when you get to step 5, below.)
3. Click on the link that's contained in step 2 in the email message. Clicking on this link will open your browser and take you to the LOG IN window for your personal, password-protected LISCO Message Center.
 
   
4. At the log in window, enter your login address, as it appears in the email message.(Your log in address should be in the form of username@lisco.com )
5. Enter your temporary password, as it appears in the email message.
6. Click on the LOG IN button. Another window will appear and you'll be asked to replace your temporary password with a new password of your choosing.
   
 
   
7. After entering your new password, it will be a good idea to write this new password down and keep it in a secure place.
8. Click on the Save Changes button. You will be taken to your personal LISCO Message Center.
   
   
9. Add this page to your list of Favorites (if Internet Explorer is your browser) or bookmark this page (if Netscape is your browser). This will allow you to easily visit your personal LISCO Message Center whenever you want to see the email messages that have been filtered out.
10. Click on the Junk Email Settings link. This will take you to the Junk Email ON-OFF page.
   
   
11. Click on the ON button to activate email filtering. In a moment or two the ON button will turn green, indicating that junk email filtering has been enabled.
12. Click on the Virus Settings link. You'll be taken to the Virus Protection ON-OFF page.
   
   
13. Click the ON button to activate virus filtering. In a moment or two the ON button will turn green, indicating that virus filtering has been enabled.
14. LISCO's spam-free and virus-free filtering system will now start working for you and will be blocking unwanted email and virus-infected messages.
15. If you want, you can click on the Message Center link to see the messages that have been filtered out.
16. When you're finished viewing messages or altering settings at your Message Center, click on the Log Out link. (Logging out will prevent another person, such as a child in your family, from sitting down at your computer and altering the filtering settings, or going to your Message Center and viewing blocked messages.)
