Frequently Asked Questions

What about domain name e-mail?
E-mail spam filtering is free but it only works for e-mail addresses that end in lisco.com. If you have your own domain name and associated e-mail accounts you will need to make special arrangements for filtering.

For example, you have a web site hosted with the domain name widgets.com and you have e-mail accounts that come to sales@widgets.com that you want filtered. We can set filtering up for you, but there are charges connected with this services as follows:

Setup fee:
$200 (includes 2 hours of support and training)

How this works:
We get you started. We set up the domain and show someone at your company how to manage the filtering service within your company. Your in-house manager then sets up the individual e-mail accounts to use the service as appropriate for your needs.

What if we have more than one domain?
$25 setup fee per extra domain if they fit the following conditions. Each domain require a separate setup on our side and therefore requires an extra startup fee. But if all the e-mails are on the same server as the other domain or domains, and everything is managed by the same customer's in-house manager, then that fee would be only $25 per extra domain.

Monthly charges:
1 to 15 e-mail accounts: $5/month
16 to 50 e-mail accounts: $15/month
51 to 100 e-mail accounts: $35/month

101 to 200 e-mail accounts: $0.32 per account
Over 200 e-mail accounts: $0.30 per account

For multiple domains, the fee will be determined by the sum of all the e-mail accounts.

How Will I Know When LISCO's Spam-Filtering Is Available To Me?
You will receive an email message from us that contains your personal, temporary password for activating spam filtering. It will also contain instructions for turning on the service.

If you want to activate your filter please contact support@lisco.com with the request.

How Well Does LISCO's Spam-Free Email System Work?
Email filtering is a complex problem and no system will be 100% effective. It's not possible to always distinguish spam from legitimate e-mail. A system that blocked everything might mistakenly block the good mail too. At the beginning, some spam will still get through. LISCO's system allows you to fine tune what gets and does not get filtered. As you continue to fine tune the service to fit your individual needs it will work better and better.

My Legitimate Email Keeps Getting Caught As SPAM.
How Can I Fix This?
LISCO's email filtering service has an Approved Senders list and an Approved Mailing list. These are lists you can use to allow specific, legitimate addresses to bypass the filtering process. It's important that you add the email addresses from you legitimate messages to these lists, because only by doing so do you fine tune the filtering service so it filters out only those messages you don't want.

I Keep Getting SPAM That The Filter Doesn't Catch.
Although our email filtering system isn't 100% effective, there are two things you can do to increase the system's effectiveness. First, you can add the email address of any unwanted email to your Blocked Senders list. You can also forward any SPAM you receive that the system doesn't catch to spam@postini.com. (An attempt will be made to include the email addresses of these forwarded messages to the main filtering database.)
