Connection Settings
For Windows NT
1. Close all programs and windows and go to the Desktop.
2. Double-click on the My Computer icon.
3. Double-click on the Dial-Up Networking icon.

 

 

4. Under "Phonebook entry to dial,"
--if there is a LISCO entry, go to step 13.
--if there is not a LISCO entry, go to step 5.
5. Click on the NEW button.The New Phonebook Entry Wizard box will appear.

 

 

 

6. Type in "LISCO-Fairfield" (or whatever is appropriate for your LISCO area).
7. Click on the Next button. The Server box will appear.

 

 

8. Check I am calling the Internet .
9. Click on the Next button. The Phone Number box will appear.

 

 
10. Type in the LISCO local access phone number. (Get this from the Welcome Letter you received when you signed up with LISCO.)
11. Click on the Next button. The New Phonebook Entry Wizard box will appear.

 

Warning: Be sure to check that the LISCO local access telephone number you choose is a local call from your phone. If you have any doubt about whether the call will be toll-free, contact your telephone company. LISCO is not responsible for any long distance charges incurred.

 

12. Click on the Finish button. This will return you to the Dial-up Networking box.

 

 
13. Under Phonebook entry to dial, make sure that LISCO is selected.
14. Confirm that the phone number is correct.
15. Click on the More button. A pull-down menu will appear.

 

16. Select Edit entry and modem properties... The Edit Phonebook Entry box will appear.

 

 

 

17. Click on the Server tab. The Server box will appear.

 

18. Under Dial-up server type, select PPP: Windows NT, Windows 95 Plus, Internet.
19. The only little white box that should have a checkmark in it is TCP/IP. (If any other box has a checkmark, click on the box to remove the checkmark.)
20. Click on the TCP/IP Settings button. The PPP TCP/IP Settings box will appear.

 

 
21. Select Server assigned IP address.
22. Select Specify name server addresses.
23. Press the TAB key on your keyboard. The cursor will jump down to the left-hand side of the Primary DNS field.
24. Type in the following numbers:
69.18.32.50
25. Press the TAB key on your keyboard. The cursor will jump down to the left-hand side of the Secondary DNS field.
26. Type in the following numbers:
69.18.32.51
27. Near the bottom of the box, the only thing checked should be Use default gateway on remote network.
28. Click on the OK button. The Edit Phonebook Entry box will reappear.

 

 

29. Click on the Script tab. The Script box will appear.

 

 
30. Where it says, "After dialing (login)," click on None.
31. Click on the OK button.
32. Click on the Close button.
