How to turn off file sharing on a PC with Windows 98

 

 
1. At the Desktop, right-click on the Network Neighborhood icon.

 

 

2. When the menu appears, choose Properties.

 

 
3. When the Network box appears, click on the File and Print Sharing button. The File and Print Sharing box will appear (see step 4, below).

 

 

4. If file sharing is on, there will be check marks in either or both of the small white checkboxes. To turn file sharing off, click on those boxes that are checked. Clicking will remove the checkmarks.
5. Click on the OK button to close the File and Print Sharing box.
6. Click on the OK button to close the Netword box.
