DSL Support for Modem Installation.

Connect the phone line.

Connect the modem using a phone cord, plugging one end into the “Line” port on the back of the modem and the other end straight into phone “wall jack”. It’s important to NOT route the phone cord through any line splitters, surge protectors or especially the included DSL phone filter. Just straight into the wall jack.

Connect the ethernet connection.

Connect the modem to your computer, router or hub (depending on your setup) using an ethernet cable from the “Ethernet” port on the back of the modem and into the ethernet port on the back of your computer. If you do have a router it would typically plug into a port labeled “Internet”, on a hub or switch it can plug into any of the ports.

Power up the modem.

Physical Installation is Complete. The modem will run through a series of self tests. When it is finished then Power, Status and Lan should be lit. (On a Paradyne 6310 or 6350 it would be Power, Line and Ethernet). The TX/RX light may blink or flash.
